Liturgy of Dust
Cael Solari has paid off his ship, but the Syndicate refuses to hand it back. Instead of surveying the Drift and making Cael and his crew rich, it hangs in the docks, suspended in magnetic clamps. To free it, he must accept a sixty-year voyage into Drift Space.
Cryo will freeze his metabolism. The implant that has tested him all his adult life will keep growing through his brain.
At their destination, the ground curves overhead where the sky should be. It is a ringworld, larger than anything they have ever seen. Skeletons lie in the dust. Broken machines lie among the stone. Then a machine recognises Cael. And the thing growing inside his skull answers.
Cael must find out what is happening to him. His crew’s lives depend on it, and perhaps everyone else’s do too.
The Song must return, or Silence will reign.
